A big, giant thank from Roob and Mark to everybody who came out to our Manny Brown's shows this year. This was our sixth fanastic year working with Tom Carpino and the great crew at Manny's - our sixth year in Newtown and our third year at Neshaminy Mall to go with one year at the Manny's location on South Street. We had quite a lineup at the two Manny's shows this year - veterans like Trent Cole, Mike Patterson, Montae Reagor, Correll Buckhalter, Juqua Thomas, Omar Gaither, L.J. Smith, Brian Dawkins and Reno Mahe, youngsters like Stewart Bradley, Kevin Kolb, Akeem Jordan, Brent Celek, Joselio Hanson, Nick Graham, Marcus Paschal, Chris Gocong, Victor Abiamiri and Tanard Davis.
A special thanks to Tanard, who joined us today on our farewell show at Neshaminy. Tanard had only been with the Eagles a few hours when he enthusiastically agreed to come up and do the show in place of scheduled guest Michael Gasperson, who the Eagles released earlier in the day. Turned out to be one of the more fun shows we've done this year, and we sure hope Tanard sticks on the roster because we can't wait to bring him back next year!
Hopefully, we're back at Manny's next year. Check back to this site frequently this offseason for Mark and Roob's WIP appearances, book signings and player appearances. We have a few things we're working on for the offseason, and as soon as we have confirmed dates, guests and sites, we'll post all the details right here on oldoriginals.blogspot.com - the internet home of The Old Originals.

Gasperson to Make Manny Brown's Debut

Roob and Mark will finish up the 2007 Manny Brown's season on Wednesday night, Dec. 27, with first-time guest Michael Gasperson at Manny's in Neshaminy Mall. We'll start at 7 p.m. and hang out with Mike for about an hour.
Mike's a great guy and a fascinating story. After walking on at San Diego, where his coach was Jim Harbaugh - brother of John Harbaugh - he joined the Eagles in the middle of training camp in 2005 and has spent the last three years on the practice squad, running scout team and practicing against the first-team offense. Gasperson did such a good job as Terrell Owens last week, Lito Sheppard credited him for preparing him after shutting down T.O. in the Eagles' 10-6 win at Texas Stadium Sunday night.
When they placed Takeo Spikes on Injured Reserve, the Eagles promoted Gasperson to the active roster, and on Sunday in New Orleans, he'll make his NFL debut when the Eagles face the Saints.
With the Eagles out of the playoffs, this will be our final show this year at Manny Brown's. But check back to this site frequently because we have some exciting offseason plans this year.

Joselio Hanson at Manny's Neshaminy on Wednesday

Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson, who has supplanted William James as the nickel corner, will join Reuben Frank and Mark Eckel from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Manny Brown's in Neshaminy Mall.

Hanson is a great guest and a great story. After being released by the 49ers following the 2004 season, he was out of football in 2005 and couldn't even talk an NFL team into giving him a workout. He went to the World League as a last-gasp move to save his career and wound up in training camp with the Eagles in 2006. He worked his way up, made the team, and has turned into a very reliable young defensive back.

We'll be doing our usual stuff Wednesday - Eagles Quizzo, lots of giveaways, audience participation and a Q&A with Joselio.

By the way, for those fans who were hoping to meet Kimo von Oelhoffen last night at Manny Brown's in Newtown, I got a message from him early this morning apologizing profusely for missing the event and not letting us know. It turns out he had a family emergency, had to fly to Minneapolis, and got stranded on a plane at the airport with a dead cell phone battery.
